From Whales to Nemo: Why do we hate the ocean so much?

The ocean is a giant buffet and 7 billion people are in line.

Whales are still being hunted and eaten in “civilized” nations. Please comment about my article in Earth Island Journal:

Nemo has joined the growing line of ocean species that will be listed as endangered.

Meanwhile, actually “finding Nemo” is getting harder and harder, because the clownfish is losing its home on the Pacific reefs (and Caribbean reefs are worse). It is headed for the endangered species list. Please write the editor about my article here:

Do you have a problem with letting the ocean fall apart? I do. But nobody wants to talk to me about it … actually I have a hard time discussing it, because it is too, too upsetting, and considering the scope of the tragedy, you feel utterly powerless. However, I think if we want to keep humans on this planet, we might want to consider saving the ocean first.
